Plein Air Abingdon - 4th annual festival of outdoor fine art

William King Museum of Art, 9:00 AM-7:00 PM

For the fourth year in a row, the Virginia Highlands Festival and William King Museum of Art are creating a special opportunity for artists and art enthusiasts.

"Plein Air Abingdon" is a plein air paint-out and pop-up gallery that offers artists a place to

  • Create new work
  • Sell their work
  • Network with fellow artists and collectors

Artists, please click the link to register your participation in this year's "Plein Air Abingdon."

Art lovers and enthusiasts, mark your calendars to come see artists at work on Saturday of the festival (April 27th). Watch a plein air demonstration, led by Kyle Buckland at 10AM at the Creeper Trail trailhead, see artists create new work throughout downtown Abingdon from 1-3PM, and come see their finished pieces at the William King Museum of Art from 5-7PM.

Sponsored in part by the Moroney Foundation, Laurel Springs Studio, Town of Abingdon, Virginia Commission for the Arts, National Endowment for the Arts, and the Virginia Tourism Corporation.
