The escargot is rich and decadent, followed up with the Norwegian salmon is the perfect pairing. The strawberry field cocktail is fresh and naturally refreshing. Did not have the time to try the main dishes but the menu is diverse. The gentleman working the outside bar was knowledgeable and kind.

RG2 5 out of 5 stars★★★★★What a fun historical experience at The Tavern in Abingdon! The entire area of Main St has historical significance dating to the early and mid 1700s. The building itself is from 1779 and it had been kept and restored to it's original glory. The outside windows could use a face lift, but interior is just amazing. Stone Walls, short wood beamed ceilings. Foot deep window casing. Beautiful, original fireplaces, authentic looking light fixtures glowing. Our waiter, Avery, was so sweet and efficient. He gave us time when we needed it and even offered to get me the orange vinaigrette recipe, which I happily accepted. It was wonderful on the salad. We had the stuffed filet and split the meal which included 2 sides, salad and bread basket all for$58👍 Our sides were asparagus and beans and carrots. The carrots were a bit odd as they were round little nubs. Delicious!!! Cocktails were available at the outdoor bar at 4:30pm, prior to the main dining area opening at 5pm. That was nice as we had arrived early. They have a beautiful, covered outdoor seating area

PaulTheTres 4 out of 5 stars★★★★☆This experience was really cool! I had the duck and my had the black and blu medallions and it was delicious. They also have and understand GF which is a big win for me. We also had the Caprese salad for an appetizer, I had to drink a bourbon in a place called the tavern. They had some of the best GF key lime pie I’ve ever had! The price point was a little on the high side when you look at it from a food perspective for me but I’m not a foodie. I like to think I paid for the experience as well. Before tip the bill was $157. The buffalo trace pour was $16 alone. No complaints here, just stating for people so no one is caught off guard. We loved it!
