Valentine's Day concert at Barter Theatre

Friday February 14th kicks off a brand new music series called the Abingdon Sessions.  This series celebrates Americana and roots music with concerts at the intimate Barter Theatre.  

February 14th, catch Jill Andrews and Brooke & Darin Aldridge at 8:00pm

A native of East Tennessee, Jill Andrews kicked off her songwriting career as co-founder of the everybodyfields, a band whose mix of Southern genres – folk, country, bluegrass – and male-female vocals helped pave the way for future groups like The Civil Wars. After three albums, Andrews left that band and launched a solo career, starting with a self-titled EP and a full-length record, The Mirror, that built something bigger a broader on top of her Americana roots. 

Husband and wife duo Darin & Brooke Aldridge draw on the traditions of their native North Carolina, the savvy of a young, gifted band and their own dedication to ingenuity to create the most adventurous album of their career with their latest critically acclaimed release, Inner Journey.

Dinner for two at Sisters American Grill

This intimate restaurant inside The Martha Washington Inn & Spa is a favorite for special occasions.  New for 2020: Sisters American Grill is reopening just in time for Valentine's Day with a brand new decor.  Executive Chef Mitch Wilhoit debuts a special prix fixe menu for Friday February 14th.    The five course meal is $65 per guest, and includes favorites like Lobster Bisque and Seared Salmon, as well as Chef Mitch's signature Brasstown Beef Fillet.

Valentine's Day dinner at White Birch Food & Juice

Since 2014, White Birch Food & Juice has been dedicated to serving our community in and around Abingdon, VA using the freshest and most regionally local ingredients possible!  They partner with over a dozen farmers in the area providing local, pastured meats, farm fresh eggs and dairy, & all the local, in season produce they can get their hands on!
