The Meadows Sports Complex

One of Abingdon's oldest attractions is the legendary Barter Theatre, the State Theatre of Virginia. The theatre began in 1933 with one man's idea to have patrons pay with produce.
Abingdon also has a vast art scene with over 300 local and regional artisans represented downtown. Enjoy a trip to Holston Mountain Artisans, The Arts Depot, the William King Museum of Art, and Round the Mountain.

The Meadows Sports Complex is approximately 34 acres and is a state-of-the-art sports facility and community park, located in downtown Abingdon, Virginia. This complex will enhance the quality of life in Abingdon and the entire region by supporting our local teams and families while providing traveling youth and adult sports teams the ability to compete in baseball, softball, soccer, football, lacrosse, and more. Other amenities will accommodate a variety of community recreational needs listed below.
The complex offers two 225′, one 300′, and one 350′ skinned diamond field with fencing, lighting, and scoreboards. The diamond field distances can be changed with the use of temporary fencing, along with the ability to adjust the distance between bases to accommodate softball or baseball. The diamond fields are equipped with a press box and private meeting space for officials. Public and family restrooms along with concessions are accessible within this area of the complex.
The Meadows also offers two multi-purpose fields that are regulation-size soccer fields, as well as a multi-purpose field that is half the size of a standard soccer field. These fields can be used for a variety of sports. Public and family restrooms along with concessions are accessible within this area of the complex.
Other amenities include an ADA-accessible playground, a walking track around the perimeter of the complex that has access to the Virginia Creeper Trail, picnic areas, lighted parking lots, and ornamental landscaping throughout the complex.
