Turkey Trail Ride 2024
On November 23rd, join Abingdon for a day of adventure, community, and celebration along the stunning Virginia Creeper Trail. The Turkey Trail Ride is an event for everyone—whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or a beginner. Enjoy the trail at your own pace and explore the beautiful landscapes from Abingdon to Damascus.
Event Highlights
- Shuttle Service: Until 2:00 PM on Saturday November 23rd, a convenient shuttle will loop through Abingdon, Alvarado, and Damascus. It’s the perfect way to experience the trail as you wish. Start your ride at the trailhead in Abingdon and then hop on a shuttle at either Alvarado Station or Damascus for a ride back to Abingdon.
- Merchant Open House: Wander through Abingdon's festive downtown shops in the afternoon and enjoy exclusive deals, unique finds, and the charm of local businesses. 11am - 5pm.
- Festival of Trees Lighting Event: Stay for an evening of holiday magic with caroling, hot cider, and the launch of our Festival of Trees—an Abingdon tradition celebrating the spirit of the season. The tree lighting event will begin at 5:00pm.
Ticket Options

- $35 Shuttle Ticket: Includes a shuttle pass, allowing you to hop on at Alvarado or Damascus for a ride back to Abingdon.
- Make a Donation: Make a donation that goes directly to participating bike shops!
